[Ferrousity]

In 2001 Students from East Carolina University, UNCA Asheville, and Buffalo State, went to Finland and Latvia to make sculptural mayhem with Professor Carl Billingsley, and Ken Payne.

We built environmental installations at Pedvale Sculpture Park in Latvia. Poured iron there as well, then went to Saint Petersburg Russia for some sightseeing. We then proceeded to Finland where we participated in workshops organized by Villu Jaanisoo. We poured large molds in a commercial foundry for guest artists, and had a regular pour for workshop participants in Pirkkala Finland.

I believe that Carl has now taken students abroad to pour iron over a dozen times. I have had the pleasure of accompanying him again since this was made, but unfortunately I didn't shoot enough video.

Below is a streaming video of my documentation of the 2001 trip. It is a little slow paced at times since it is 1:41 long, and probably means more to the people who were there, but there is some good pour footage, interesting artwork, and interesting characters.
